Language is a unique means of communication in the world. We have over 7.8 Billions people and over 1.3 millions ethnic groups and also over 50 Millions clans with different languages.

For instance in Democratic Republic of Congo the people do speak over 472 languages which is really more interesting for a one nation to have all too many languages. Some languages are spoken by just a village or two.
Language toping the list is English. This language is popular worldwide and is regarded as a world language. Everywhere people gather they commonly use English to communicate except China, Russia and India. Usually gather and speak their native languages.
Second largest language highly used in Africa is Arabic. This is a language associated with Indians and commonly used in mosques. It is also used in moslem education institutions as a principle language. This language is commonly used in all regions of Africa.
French becomes the third major language Africans adopted as their own language too. French originates from France and during African partition period France colonized Zaire now called Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The language is commonly used as well in most countries in western Africa like Cameroon, Senegal, Ivory Coast and many.
The fourth language is Swahili. Swahili language is a dialect language which was born after the combination of Arabic language and African and all people speak it are called Swahili commonly found in Tanzania and Kenya and the language is called kiswahili. If you are visiting Tanzania get prepared to learn it or hire a translator because they do not entertain foreign languages or admire.
The fifth language which is not original from Africa is Portuguese. This language belongs to a country called Portugal. During Partition of Africa Portugal colonized few countries in Africa as well. Some notable countries are Mozambique, and Angola.
In conclusion, African continent does not have its own common language and all major five languages used are inherited from former colonizers like British government, Portugal, Asian language too.
Disadvantage of having more different languages is that they bring communication barrier and because of misunderstanding the civil wars do erupt causing deaths in innocent people.
